Yes. St. Patrick’s Cathedral offers official tours, including a self-guided audio tour that lets you explore at your own pace. Tours cover highlights such as the cathedral’s Gothic Revival architecture, stained-glass windows, Lady Chapel and high altar.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral has hosted several high-profile weddings over the years. Celebrity couples who have married there include singer Mariah Carey and music executive Tommy Mottola, who married at the cathedral in 1993, and singer and actress Thalía and Tommy Mottola, who married there in 2000. St. Patrick’s remains an active Catholic cathedral, so wedding ceremonies and other religious services continue alongside visitor access.

The crypt beneath the high altar of St. Patrick’s Cathedral contains the remains of several former Archbishops of New York, including John Hughes, John McCloskey, Michael Corrigan, John Farley, Patrick Hayes, Francis Spellman, Terence Cooke, John O’Connor and Edward Egan. Venerable Pierre Toussaint is also buried there and is notable as the first layperson to be interred in the cathedral’s crypt, which is traditionally reserved for bishops and archbishops. The crypt is not generally part of the standard visitor experience, although some specialist tours may offer access.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral is famous for its striking Neo-Gothic architecture, soaring twin spires, white-marble exterior and location on Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Designed by architect James Renwick Jr., the cathedral opened in 1879 and features ornate chapels, stained-glass windows, a large rose window and an impressive high altar. It is also the seat of the Archbishop of New York and one of the city’s best-known religious landmarks, welcoming visitors of all faiths alongside its role as an active place of worship.
