The South Street Seaport Museum is a New York City cultural institution dedicated to telling the story of how the city grew from a small Dutch colony to a world port metropolis where cultures and businesses came together and thrived.
Journey through a working 19th-century letterpress shop, a turn-of-the-century fine goods emporium, multiple exhibitions on Schermerhorn Row, and visit Pier 16 to tour the 'floating lighthouse' Ambrose and the only iron-hulled, tall ship in New York City, Wavertree.

- The legendary AMBROSE ship was originally used as a 'floating lighthouse' for ships sailing along the Atlantic Ocean into the New York Bay.
- The museum was gifted the Lighthouse Ambrose ship in 1968 from the U.S Coast guard.
