Unlimited Biking NYC-Central Park Bike Rental highlights
Strawberry Fields and Imagine mosaic – A tribute to John Lennon based on the Beatles song ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’. This area was officially dedicated on October 9, 1985, the 45th anniversary of Lennon's birth. It's a designated Quiet Zone in the park, shaded by American elms and lined with benches.
Bethesda Fountain – Check out this fountain with its famous Angel of the Waters statue. Built-in commemoration of the water system that brought fresh water to NYC in 1842, the angel carries a lily as a symbol of the water's purity.
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir – This 106-acre body of water takes up 1/8th of the park, while the 1.58 track that surrounds it is a favorite for New Yorkers to jog around.
Belvedere Castle – The name of this castle, which was originally intended as a Victorian folly, means ‘beautiful view’. Not only is it a striking building, it’s also used by the National Weather Service to keep track of wind speed and rainfall.
Shakespeare Garden – Check out the plants mentioned in Shakespearean works or just enjoy the array of flowers and greenery in this four-acre oasis. Pick your day right and you may even get to see a Shakespeare play in the nearby Delacourt Theatre.
Central Park facts
