Fun re displays
Kimt ·Very limited display but enjoyable Will probably look back at the visit and recognize the artists as significant for this period
Small, fun, filler stop
Anne ·I’m glad I went, but I wouldn’t prioritize this museum. If you have 30 min-1 hour free in this area, stop in, the exhibits are fun and the artist open studios are interesting to see and meet the artist
Nice Museum
Rachel ·Visited the Museum of Arts and Design in May, and it was a great experience. The Haas Brothers exhibit was a real highlight, we could have spent all day admiring their work. The museum wasn’t too busy, which made it easy to explore every exhibit at a relaxed pace without feeling rushed. The space itself is large and well laid out, so even when there were other visitors around, it never felt crowded. A really enjoyable and comfortable visit overall.
Wonderful exhibits
Coen ·Although relatively small compared with other museums and galleries in NYC, the exhibitions were very interesting and thought provoking, what great art and design should be!! Given the building is by Columbus Circus, it is easy to get to. A couple of hours should be enough to take everything in and I've only taken off a star as the building felt a little confusing to navigate once inside, that's just my personal take. I would recommend M.A.D. and visited as part of my GoCity NYC pass.
Mad About MAD
Armand A ·This was an enjoyable visit because I joined a free docent tour led by the affable and beautiful guide, Robin. Since I was the only participant, it turned into a “private” tour of MAD. The highlight was the Jonathan Adler exhibition — that alone is worth your time. Designers, architects, and people who love contemporary art will definitely fall in love with MAD.
Good but not for us
MPFL ·The museum itself is laid out well and easy to navigate, but the subject of the art didn't really speak to us.
