  • The ghost of Edgar Allan has been seen wandering the stairways of New York University’s Furman Hall, his old residence, which he occupied for eight months between 1844 and 1845.
  • The famed folktale, ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,’ takes place on the eastern shore of the Hudson River Valley, New York. The story follows Ichabod Crane, a local teacher who encounters the infamous ‘Headless Horseman on his way home one evening. Crane runs for his life, and the Horseman chases him into the night. The story goes that Crane’s horse returns without its rider who is said to have been ‘spirited away by supernatural means.’

Getting in: the tour meets in front of the Waverly Diner on the corner of 6th Avenue and Waverly Place, outside The Waverly restaurant. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check-in and provide your pass for scanning. 

  • All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21.
  • Your guide will be holding a white flag with blue checks and the Top Dog Tours logo on it.
  • We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and dressing according to the season.
  • During the summer we suggest bringing water.
